Halloween is right around the corner, and we couldn’t think of a better way to get in the spirit than by decorating some evil and spooky spaces. And while last year we reimagined the sets of some of our favorite Halloween classics, this year we’re looking to some of our favorite villains for inspiration.

And not just any villains. This year we’re serving up an extra special Halloween treat—rooms inspired by our favorite Disney Villains! That’s right, in addition to our cast of princesses, we reimagined how 5 Disney Villains would decorate their homes in 2019. 1. The Evil Queen from “Snow White”

It’s a tough job designing a room fit for the fairest of them all (no pressure but we heard her last decorator died after eating a poison apple). So nothing but a chic and moody Rococo style boudoir would do for the Evil Queen and vindictive stepmother of Snow White.

We were majorly inspired by the Queen’s outfit from the classic Disney film. Her space is composed of shades of inky blue, royal purple, and gold highlights. The furniture has some not-so-subtle throne vibes, and luxurious materials like velvet and marble make for an extra regal atmosphere.

Of course the Evil Queen’s portrait is the only art in the space, but it’s accompanied by a gallery of mirrors and more mirrors on the wall. (Including her magic mirror, for a daily dose of compliments.)

2. Cruella De Vil from “One Hundred and One Dalmatians”

She may be evil, but you can’t deny Cruella de Vil had style. And while we’re definitely opposed to turning puppies into coats, we couldn’t pass up the chance to design her home office lounge space. (No animals were harmed in the making of this design!)

We thought Cruella’s 2019 style would be a bold approach to Hollywood glam (which loves all kinds of animal print). We filled her space with sleek, statement-making pieces in her signature red, black, and white color palette. This is a style we at Modsy call “less is more chic” which juxtaposes over-the-top elements with minimal styling and no-frills furniture.

3. Captain Hook from “Peter Pan”

Captain Hook’s living room is a cozy retreat, inspired by the captain’s quarters on his ship. This Disney villain’s look features many elements of American Colonial design with a few nautical and worldly accents.

We imagined he’d use this space to confer with other shipmates, like his boatswain Mr. Smee, and plot their next attack or track down Peter Pan.

We made sure his space was filled with lots of pirate-worthy treasures. This includes a map of Neverland, a telescope to keep a lookout for the lost boys, and a chest to keep gold safely tucked away.

4. Ursula from “The Little Mermaid”

Probably one of the most iconic Disney villains – how can you not love a half-octopus witch with two eel sidekicks? – Ursula’s bedroom is a chic, underwater lair-meets-oasis. Her home was in the deepest part of the ocean and had an electric palette of pinks, purples, and aquas.

We were inspired by art deco design for her bedroom, which you can see in the shell-shaped bed frame, geometric patterns, and curved designs. We filled her room with oceanic touches, like the coral sculptures and shell art, that give her space an under-the-sea vibe.

5. Jafar from “Aladdin”

Jafar may have been the Sultan’s most trusted advisor, but to us he’s the evil sorcerer who tried to seize control over Agrabah. And while the Jafar preferred a decor scheme that was evil and dark, we updated his 2019 style to something more minimal and sleek.

The geometric and austere space reflects his evil and cold personality. While the palette of blacks, grays, and red was inspired by his outfit from the original film. The king bed is probably the closest Jafar will ever get to being Sultan. An evil sorcerer can dream, right?

We also had to include some references to his cobra obsession in the space, including the rug and serpentine wall sconces. The bird sculpture pays homage to his parrot, Iago and the hourglass references the time he tried to trap Jasmine.
